Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park
The Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park has a reputation for being one of New Zealand's very best Mountain Bike Parks. Owned and maintained by the Kaiteriteri Reserve Board means that the Park is continually receiving maintenance and upgrades. If you are a Mountain Biker then this really will be your piece of paradise. If you are not a Mountain Biker then some of the easier tracks can take you through the lower portion of the park on the Great Taste Trail to Riwaka, Motueka, Mapua and on to Nelson. There are lots and lots of options depending on your level of fitness and desire. E Bikes are also available and are great for those wishing to travel longer distances. See below for links and further information. As at November 2024 a new Bicycle Hire company has established in Kaiteriteri known as Gentle Cycling. They hire a range of bikes from Hybrid, Hard Tail, Full Suspension Mountain Bikes through to E-Bikes and more. This operator is open Friday - Sunday from November to 13 December and then daily from 14 December to Easter 2025. The closest other operator is the "My Ride" bike hire shop in Motueka. My Ride will deliver bikes for guests staying and who book well in advance.

Suggested Rides for the not so Serious Rider
Kaiteriteri/ Motueka and Return - Approx 30km - Depending on the route you take this ride can be mostly off road and on the Great Taste Trail. It does have a couple of hills to tackle leaving Kaiteriteri. For those who are reasonable fit this is not a difficult ride if you take your time. For those who would like some assistance then hiring an E Bike may be a better option. The Great Taste Trail will take you through the lower "Easy" Trail within the Kaiteriteri Mountain Bike Park. If you have never ridden off road trails before then this may be a little challenging until you get used to it. It does have some hill work and switch back corners. Once you are through the "Easy" trail then you are on a cycle trail all the way to Motueka. There are several options to follow into Motueka which includes the water front and Port Motueka. Don't hesitate to ask for advice.
